MicroMo Electronics expands its brushless DC motor product line with the addition of its Series 2057…B. According to the company, with an external motor-diameter of 20mm and a length of 57mm, the power to volume ration is truly impressive.
The motor uses the "system FAULHABER" skewed winding in combination with a rotor made of Neodymium rare-earth magnets to provide cog-free motion. Due to their electronic commutation, the service life of these motors is only limited by the bearings. The brushless DC motor can achieve a continuous output torque up to 18mNm, at speeds up to 58,000 rpm.
The brushless DC motor comes in a sterilized version capable of withstanding an autoclave environment. The housing of the motor is black to facilitate optimum heat dissipation. According to MicroMo, the Series 2057…B brushless DC motor is ideal for applications such as medical or dental hand pieces.
The Series 2057…B brushless DC motor can be combined with a gearbox and encoder for a complete miniature DC drive system. The planetary and spur gearboxes are available in both 20mm and 23mm diameter with various reduction ratios, allowing an output torque of up to 700mNm. The two-channel magnetic encoders allow for precise control of speed and direction of rotation, as well as the positioning of the drive shaft.
