A new "T" series of anti-backlash nuts have been developed by Haydon Switch & Instrument. The new nuts optimize system stiffness without sacrificing life or increasing drag torque. They can be used in conjunction with Haydon's existing line of linear actuators, or as a standalone product with Haydon's Acme leadscrews.
Available in a wide-range of diameters and leads, the "T" Series Anti- Backlash Nuts or Torsional Style Anti-Backlash Nuts are designed to eliminate the clearance between the threads of the nut and the threads between the two nuts and the leadscrew. The "T" Series offers adjustable drag torque. It can be made very low for light loads or very high for heavy loads. The "T" Series also offers the largest load capacity of all Haydon's Anti-Backlash Nuts.
Utilizing a proprietary blend of self-lubricating polyacetal in conjunction with precision rolled 303 stainless steel screw material, the nut provides smooth operation throughout the life of the assembly. In addition, it provides maximum life with one-time lubrication and it also performs well when run dry in conjunction with Haydon's Black Ice coated screws.
Due to the self-lubricating properties of the plastic, these new anti- backlash nuts are ideally suited for applications in medical, food processing, or wherever precise positioning is required as they eliminate backlash between the leadscrew and nut interface.
