The High Speed Air Turbine Spindle, with a quick change option for the majority of vertical machining centers on the market today, offers the Air Turbine Motor and CAT40 spindle integrated into one unit. The ER-8 and ER-11 collet systems offer 0.0002" tir, (5µm). The wrap-around air inductions system utilizes a manifold which mates up to an accessory block mounted on the machining center's spindle cap, eliminating the need to manually hook up an air hose to run the Air Turbine Spindle. This design allows the operator to keep the high speed spindle in the carrousel until needed and can run "lights out" if programmed properly.
With offered models up to 1.4hp and speeds from 25,000 rpm to 90,000rpm, this option converts any machining center into a high speed profit center, allowing increased surface footage for increased productivity.
