Powerful Surface Machining
PartMaker Version 2013 is the latest version of PartMaker Software for programming CNC mills, lathes, wireEDM, turn-mill centers, and Swiss-type lathes. Among a number of other enhancements, this version features a totally revamped surface machining module offering PartMaker users some of the most powerful CAM machining algorithms available for 3-, 4- ,and 5-axis simultaneous milling operations on a variety of machining platforms.
The high-end milling functionality available in PartMaker Version 2013, the Advanced Surface Machining module, or ASM for short, will replace PartMaker’s Surface Machining Wizard (SMW) module for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining. For existing PartMaker users, the upgrade to ASM is available free, and the transition will be very easy to make. The benefits of the ASM module for PartMaker users are numerous. The will allow for faster tool path calculation, greater tool control, and improved surface finishes, among other benefits.
Headlining the improvements in the user interface in PartMaker 2013 is the Job Explorer tree, which makes navigating Machining Function Face Windows and Part Features faster. Additionally, a number of new controls added to the software make working even more intuitive. While a number of diagrams in the software have been recast and revamped to give PartMaker 2013 a fresh new look, over the user interface enhancements are numerous. PartMaker 2013 has retained the software’s traditional workflow with its industry leading ease of use so existing users will not have to worry about any relearning, they will just be more productive.

Parallel Precision Robotic Positioning Systems
A complete line of highly accurate 6-axis robotic parallel positioners (Hexapod/SpaceFAB) is available for advanced applications in a range of fields. Hexapod parallel positioners differ from classical articulated / stacked multi-axis positioners where each actuator is connected to the other actuators / motion axes in a serial configuration. In a hexapod positioner, all six actuators always work together affecting the common motion output platform. This design principle increases the stiffness while reducing the size and the moving mass.
The control of sub-micron or nanometer-precise motion patterns in 6D space requires advanced motion controllers and algorithms. PI’s family of hexapod controllers available from PI are dedicated 6D vector controllers bundled with software for programming and simulation of complex movements. Ethernet connectivity for remote servicing and remote control with an iPad app are standard.

Consistently Making Precise Marks
The newly designed model e8c153z-a dot peen marking system, with a programmable Z-axis, provides consistent repeatability while featuring upgrades to the design, such as improved operator visibility with a lit work area. Offering a large marking window of 160mm x 100mm (6.3' x 3.9"), for high quality marks on varying marking surfaces, the model e8c153z-a features a tungsten carbide stylus assembly equipped with an auto-sensing feature to achieve consistent mark results. The cast base assures long life in industrial environments.
The proven controller provides versatility for user-interface through manual data input, by scanning bar codes for error-proof data entry, and through host computer interface. A user-friendly software package allows for the creation of data files off-line then uploaded to the machine controller. Among the standard options are rotary axis for marking around circumferences and tag feeders for high volume nameplate marking.

Thermocouple Transmitter
Wireless Type K Thermocouple Transmitter (PST-TCK), alerts the user via text or email when reaching pre-set targets. Temperature is the most versatile and easy-to-interpret indicator of equipment health. A change in temperature without a change in operating conditions indicates a problem. Manufacturing operations that are sensitive to temperature changes and equipment with known optimal operating temperatures benefit from wireless monitoring since real-time notifications and alerts can allow modification and maintenance before catastrophic damage occurs. Temperature monitoring is especially valuable in evaluating conditions of motors, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes. The PST (PST-TCK) also monitors and saves the condition history of the process to verify quality or enable adherence to manufacturing requirements or standards.
