According to Hurco, the UltiMax control, which includes WinMax software, got its name by being the ultimate in power and the maximum in simplicity. The ergonomic design has easy-to-understand buttons and the slim, touch-screen, color monitor helps simplify programming tasks. Its primary distinction is the exclusive dual-panel display. With the interactive graphics, simply touch the portion of the part that needs editing (displayed on the right screen) and on the left screen, UltiMax takes you directly to the corresponding portion of the code, whether you are using conversational or NC programming. Additionally, the UltiMax control with WinMax software is able to define a 2D surface and sweep that surface along a contour, creating complex 3D geometries within one conversational data block. This feature easily reduces programming time of complex parts by 80%, says Hurco. Existing G-Code programs can be incorporated into popular conversational features. For example, by programming conversational hole cycles, bored or boss circles, and calling out G-Code based mold features, both programs can be integrated into one. This makes it easy to view the entire job graphically as well as running both programs without interruption. An NC Productivity Package lets the user create subroutines. It provides full math and trig functions, and conditional statements for program control. This package also includes access to system and user-defined variables and registers. These features make programs more flexible and allow the programmer to reuse program sections to make the programs smaller and easier to maintain.
