ADEPT TECHNOLOGY SELECTED AS ROBOTICS

ADEPT TECHNOLOGY,INC. ANNOUNCES THAT INTEGRATED BIOSCIENCES, INC.(IBS), a medical device contract manufacturer, has selected Adept Technology as their exclusive robot supplier.

ADEPT TECHNOLOGY,INC. ANNOUNCES THAT INTEGRATED BIOSCIENCES, INC.(IBS), a medical device contract manufacturer, has selected Adept Technology as their exclusive robot supplier. IBS has purchased sixteen Adept Cobra i600 SCARA robots, which will be used to build an automation line for high speed assembly of a class II medical device for a major international customer.

The Cobra i600 robot provides IBS with a robotics platform capable of equipment recapitalization, higher throughput, tighter assembly tolerances, and more complete product traceability than alternative robotic solutions. The controller-in-base design of the Cobra i600 reduces controller cabinet floor space requirements, streamlines cell communications and simplifies system design and operation.

IBS has an in-house automation design and build group as well as an engineering staff with experience in the use of automation and systems integration. By integrating standard robotic automation cells and contract medical device production, IBS is able to offer a more seamless solution for medical device manufacturing.

"Integrated BioSciences' selection of Adept as their robotics partner represents a major success for us in the demanding medical device market," says John Dulchinos, vice president of sales & marketing for Adept Technology. "It represents a strong endorsement of our products and support."

"The advanced performance and technical capabilities of Adept's robots, along with their strong customer support organization, make them an ideal partner for our medical device business strategy," says Edward Paukovits, IBS president.
